Fun Activities to Enjoy Outside with Your Pets This Spring

Spring has sprung and it has finally warmed up enough to have fun outside! It is time for you and your pet to enjoy all the activities you haven’t been able to all winter. Don’t know what to do first? Check out our suggestions on how to make the most out of the beautiful Spring weather with your pet.

Day at the Dog Park

Run, don’t walk, to your local dog park and let your pup RUN IT OUT. Throw the ball, let them be social, and enjoy being out of the house and in a different environment for a while.

Water Play Time

Find your nearest body of water and let your dog take a dip! Whether it is the ocean, a lake, or a kiddy pool in your backyard, letting your pooch take a splash will get you all the wet kisses you can handle!

Walking or Running

Get back on routine and go for a walk or run on one of your “normal” paths, or shake things up and find a new place to roam. From walking on the board walk or beach to running the mountain trails, there are so many places to explore to keep you and your pupper on your toes…and paws.

Outdoor Obstacle Course

There are many kits you can find to create an outdoor obstacle course just for your dog, but if you don’t want to put in the cash you can still create a fun environment outdoors. Grab your kid’s soccer cones and make a weave obstacle or use a hula hoop as a jump through obstacle. Give your dog a challenge by timing them through the course and make sure to give them some delicious Evolve treats when they beat their time.

Play Date

You and your pets both endured the winter, so you deserve to have fun too! Invite a friend with a dog along and have a play date! Any of the activities we have suggested would make a great place to have a playdate so you and your dog can both get the social interaction we miss in the winter.

Feline Friends

Unless your cat is an indoor/outdoor cat, generally the outside can be a no no when it comes to cats. But what if you want to have a nice Caturday?? Let your fur baby get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors by trying this hack! All you need is a play pen with breathable mesh sides and a fitted sheet. Put the cat in the playpen while you are still indoors to see if they will actually stay inside the playpen or so if they bolt, you aren’t outside. After you place your cat in the playpen put the fitted sheet on top as a cover. Then haul it outside! That way your kitty can still feel and hear all the wonderful outdoor elements while being inside a safe area. You can also try cat leashes or a cat backpack to go on an adventure with your favorite feline!
