Bark to School Photos
You’ve packed the kids’ lunches and stocked their backpacks full of supplies. Corral the kids and line them up for their back-to-school photos but this time, don’t forget the dog! Here are some tips to snap the perfect photo.
Time it right
Since your fur kid isn’t starting their first day of classes, it’s okay to wait a little bit and take your photo once you get the hang of your new morning routine. Get in the swing of your morning madness and then try to snap your picture. Planning a few things ahead will make the busy morning a little less chaotic.
Make a sign
You’ve seen the photos floating around social with kids holding signs, excitedly waiting for their first day of school; why not make one for your pooch? You can include the same fun elements like best friend, best trick, favorite toy, or favorite snack. A little bit of chalk paint goes a long way. Get creative and include the kiddos! If crafty isn’t your middle name, there are plenty of options on ETSY and Amazon.
Gather some props
Everyone loves a silly photo, so gather your funky photobooth props for the kids and a few accessories for the dog. If the dog isn’t keen on participating, hold their favorite toy hostage above the camera to see if you can keep their attention.
Tempt with treats
Keep some Jerky Bites in your tucked into your bag of tricks to get (and keep) your dog’s attention. The Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe is always a crowd pleaser. Reward them frequently so they stay engaged. Pass some treats for the kids to hand out and capture the special moments as pump your pup full of treats.
Go with the flow
If your dog doesn’t want to participate, don’t force them! Go with the flow and capture what you can. The bloopers will be treasures in the future!
